Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, former chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond locks and a lively persona, shows how to cook restaurant-style dishes in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell also worked at several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, has been studying the Italian food and culture, and participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, living in the New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied to earn an English degree as well as a communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most enjoyable time of my life. I just couldn't get enough pleasure from the experience. After graduating, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. When she was in Italy the chef gained an appreciation and appreciation for Italian culinary traditions. It made a huge effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children who face problems. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador who promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. As a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her love for cooking and profession. Anne has said throughout her culinary career that she feels so fortunate to be able share with others what is truly important to her.
