Alicia Machado was born Yoseph Alicia Machado in Maracay Venezuela in the month of December 6th, 1976. Alicia is of a varied heritage with her father being Spanish and her mother is of Cuban origin. Over the course of her career she's left an impact in the world of beauty pageants, TV, and the film industry. Machado's meteoric rise to fame started when she was named Miss Venezuela in 1995 at the age of 19, which was the name of her state Yaracuy. Her crowning achievement came one year later when she won the Miss Universe 1996 title, the fourth Venezuelan winner of the highly sought-after title. But her time during her time as Miss Universe was marred by criticism and media scrutiny as she grew weight during her term.
